99% of Me Is Invisible

This morning, I looked in the mirror.
What I see.What others see.
Is that all there is to me?
Psychologists tell us that what we're conscious of is only 1% of who we are.
Think about it.
Why do I love the color red?
Why do rainy days make me sad?
Why do I shrink in front of that person?
It's too easy to dismiss these with "that's just how it is"—especially when our lives are so full of patterns.
Consciousness is just the tip of the iceberg.
A tiny piece of ice floating above water.
But the real part lies beneath. Massive, dark, and unknown.
The unconscious.
Emotional reactions I don't understand
Choices I repeat without knowing why
Inexplicable attractions and repulsions
The same relationship patterns and failures
Here's the truth: This invisible 99% creates 100% of my life.
The clothes I'm wearing right now.
The coffee I drank this morning.
That café I always go to.
Those people I keep meeting.
All unconscious choices.
"But wait, I consciously chose these things!"
Really?
Then why do you buy similar styles every time?
Why order the same menu?
Why get hurt by the same type of person?
My reality is my unconscious.
